Max Plank Institute mobile laboratory (MoLa) joined the Diapason campaign

On October 23, 2013, the mobile laboratory (MoLa) of the Max Plank Institute for Chemistry at Mainz (http://www.mpic.de/en/research/particle-chemistry/group-drewnick.html) joined the Diapason campaign at Rome Tor Vergata to carry out ground observations of the Fall-time Saharan advections. MoLa carries a wealth of state-of the art instruments providing chemical and physical characterizations of atmospheric aerosols (e.g., http://www.atmos-meas-tech.net/5/1443/2012/amt-5-1443-2012.html). This year MoLa will operate in Rome for three weeks. In 2014, MoLa is planned to come back to Rome to observe the important Saharan dust advections tipically occurring in late spring.
