Course of introduction to the Diapason software

On November 26, 2013 a course presenting the software interfaces developed by the project (e.g., Diapason leaflet) has been held at the Arpa Lazio headquarters in Rome. The course gathered some 20 people from various Italian environmental Agencies.

"Ready-to-use" software to evaluate the Saharan origin of airmasses at any European location, and in accordance with the relevant EC Guidelines was provided on USB pen-drives.

Max Plank Institute mobile laboratory (MoLa) joined the Diapason campaign 

On October 23, 2013, the mobile laboratory (MoLa) of the Max Plank Institute for Chemistry at Mainz ( joined the Diapason campaign at Rome Tor Vergata to carry out ground observations of the Fall-time Saharan advections. MoLa carries a wealth of state-of the art instruments providing chemical and physical characterizations of atmospheric aerosols (e.g., This year MoLa will operate in Rome for three weeks. In 2014, MoLa is planned to come back to Rome to observe the important Saharan dust advections tipically occurring in late spring.
