The 2nd Diapason Intensive Observation Period started!

From the descriptions of Homer to Cicero, passing to King Arthur, the "red rain" is a recurring phenomenon in European history. The next event is expected in Rome on May 19. Waiting for it is a small "army" of international researchers and observation means.

On February, 13 2014 the first "DIAPASON Data Discussion Meeting" of the "Intensive Observation Period, 01 October – 30 November 2013" was held in Rome, at the ARPA Lazio Headquarters.
The Meeting started at 10:00 a.m.

Data collected during the first IOPs were preliminary presented and discussed. The list of presentations follows:
(i) The Intensive Observation Period;
(ii) Hourly concentration of elements at the ground: preliminary results;
(iii) Aerosol size distribution at ground level at Mt. Martano background station;
(iv) Aerosol microphysics and micrometeorology.

Representatives of project networking participants, including CNR-ISAC Rome, ARPA Lazio, INFN (FI), Perugia University, joined in the meeting.
